Billing Review

Billing review is essential to processing charges in a timely manner. The billing folks at the hospital send any charges from visits that were linked to a study to us, and it’s our job to sort out which is study related and which is not. Because of the schedule of events calendars that are set up in Epic, the billers are usually pretty good at sorting them out before they are sent to us. However, carefully check over billing review to make sure they got it right. We don’t want patients being billed for things they shouldn’t be, and we don’t want a patient’s insurance paying for things the study should be covering.

Look at the billing grids for each study (located in the Billing Grid folder in each trial folder) for reference to determine what is paid for by the study.
